Are you ready to design the future of the next 50 years?

In line with the announcement of 2020 as the year for preparation for the next 50 years which was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, The 50 Year Challenge is launched as part of the UAE Innovation Month in February 2020, to contribute in designing the future and enriching the quality of life in the UAE.

The Challenge

The 50 Year Challenge provides an opportunity for all the people in the UAE, across all Emirates, to come up with innovative and practical solutions that will contribute in building the next 50 years in four areas. We invite everyone, from all backgrounds and age groups, to submit their innovative solutions to contribute in achieving the four Zero objectives, as part of unified efforts to prepare for the next 50 years

The Process

Submission

Submission is open for all UAE nationals and residents of all ages to provide solutions that support in achieving a Zero target by 2071 to any of the 4 challenges.

Filtration

A panel of experts will review all submitted projects and filter them according to the set criteria and the 4 Zero Challenges. All shortlisted participants will be contacted to present their ideas during the UAE Innovation Month in February 2020 across the seven Emirates.

Pitching

Participants will get the chance to present their projects to a panel of expert judges in their preferred Emirate. Presentations are limited to 5 minutes each.

Testing

Final ideas will be selected after UAE Innovation Month for funding and support.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation was established to stimulate and enrich the culture of innovation within the government sector through the development of an integrated innovation framework.

The goal is for innovation to become one of the key pillars of the UAE government in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid AlMaktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to develop government operations and enhance the UAE’s competitiveness, making the UAE one of the most innovative governments around the world.
